Security and confidentiality are the starting point for most companies in our industry. We add customer service criteria to all hires. Our team meets all legal clearance requirements, but if they don’t meet the Shred Right requirement for service, then no amount of background checking or criminal records reviews matters.
Above and beyond the standard in the industry, every employee is fingerprinted, and a third party background investigation is completed for counties of residence and employment for the past seven years.
Social Security Trace
A third-party verification firm reviews the historical and local connection between the applicant and his or her social security number. The check includes:
- History of use
- Logical tables and death indices
- Verification of year and state of issuance
Federal & County Criminal Records Review
Outside verification reviews all federal districts and counties of residence, employment and school attendance in the previous seven years. All felony convictions, misdemeanor convictions and related activity on record are reported, including open arrest warrants, cases awaiting trial and charges for failure to appear.
Motor Vehicle Records Check
Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles records are searched to validate driver’s license, status and expiration date. Accident and violations on the record are also reported.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening
All prospective employees participate in a drug screening conducted by the Minnesota Department of Occupational Health.
Up to 50% of all employees undergo annual drug and criminal background screenings.
Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
Every employee signs a confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement.
