Meet Michelle Conley
Michelle’s first day at Rohn Industries was May 1, 1998, which means she’s been an employee for over 22 years! When Michelle joined the company, the space for the office could accommodate about eight or nine employees. The driving staff/ warehouse team had about twenty people on it, and Michelle was the only person that handled Accounting and Finance. The Rohn staff has tripled since Michelle started, and she has three people on her team to assist her now!
Michelle explains, “My role at the company is to ensure that we provide complete and accurate financial statements for decision making as well as reporting to our financial institution. This includes managing the accounts receivable, collections and accounts payable staff and overseeing the internal processes to make sure that we are accurately capturing all revenue and expenses. I also work with auditors and our external accountant for tax preparation.”
One of Michelle’s favorite memories from working at Rohn for 22+ years was when she planned an employee picnic at Como Park. “That was a lot of fun and I really enjoy organizing events like that.”
She knows that being at the same company for over two decades is uncommon these days. Michelle says that one of the reasons she’s stayed at the company is the small company environment. She also says, “We work closely enough that there is more mutual respect because we know each other so well.”
Michelle has a lot of respect for Rohn’s owner, Ron Mason, “. .It truly has to do a lot with Ron and his attitude towards his employees. Throughout the past 22+ years, I have seen the company go through many changes and the one thing that has really remained the same is that he genuinely cares for the well-being of his employees. He makes decisions as a business owner, but he values our opinions and allows us to have a voice.”
What does Michelle see in the future for her role and department? Michelle explains, “I believe the company is constantly looking ways to be more innovative and efficient. I believe if we keep growing like we are, there will be additional staff in the accounting department as well as possibly new systems to help create efficiencies.”
When Michelle is not at the office, she is likely spending time with her husband of over 20 years, Matt, and her two children Mitch (19), Madison (15). She also keeps very busy as a board member for the Forest Lake Area Fastpitch Association and is an Independent Senior Consultant for Mary Kay. Michelle and her family also enjoy spending time together with their friends and families at BBQs, gathering on a friend’s pontoon boat on Coon Lake, and will find any reason to get together to have some laughs and create great memories.
Join us in congratulating Michelle for being part of the Rohn Industries family for over 22 years! Congratulations, and thank you Michelle!
