Meet Eric Smith

Meet Eric Smith! Eric began driving for the Rohn Industries/ Shred Right team over 30 years ago! While he says he has driven every kind of truck in the Rohn/ Shred Right fleet, he currently services the recycling side of the company picking up paper and cardboard materials from clients.

When Eric started at Rohn, he recalled having five other co-workers, other than Ron Mason (owner), and just two recycling trucks. Whereas today, Rohn has a fleet of vehicles and nearly eighty employees, and Eric says, “I am committed to a company that values their employees. To this day, I still enjoy working at Rohn Industries after 30+ years of service.”

Even though Eric says the work is getting harder because he’s not getting any younger, he explains, “The physical part of my job is challenging, but I still enjoy it, and I can still get the job done.”

If you ask Eric to tell you about a fond memory from working at Rohn Industries, he will tell you, “My favorite memory was when CEO and Owner, Ron Mason, put his trust in me, and helped me get a loan from a credit union to purchase a more reliable vehicle, and establish credit.”

Eric also likes to recall a particular shred event that he was able to work at to support a local church.

If Eric is not at work, you are likely to find him walking around the lake or cooking for his family and friends. He is married with two children, and an avid sports fan.
