Should My Company Do On-Site or Off-Site Shredding?
Hybrid schedules are here to stay. Many companies now have their employees come into the office three days per week and work from home the other two. Some businesses have even fewer in-office days than that!
With schedules being so fluid these days, it’s even more important than ever to provide shredding services to ensure the security of company information. But what’s the best option for your specific company?
On-Site Shredding vs Off-Site Shredding
If you’d prefer to have a shredding company bring a truck out to your building and shred documents at your address, that’s on-site shredding. If you’d prefer to gather documents and bring them to be shredded at the shredding company’s facility, that would be considered off-site shredding.
Both have their advantages, for example, on-site shredding is slightly more secure while off-site shredding is slightly cheaper. But ultimately, your decision is simply up to personal preference. They’re both solid options that will help you protect company data.
Can’t Decide? Try Both!
You don’t have to limit yourself to one shredding strategy. Like your company’s work schedules, you can make your own hybrid plan! For example, you could arrange to have one big company shredding event per month at the office and then hire a mobile shredding service to pick up shreddable items from employees once per quarter.
